Laptop skin and Web cam

To give a new look to your laptop, or simply just for a change, you can paste a laptop notebook skin, which is a great notebook computer accessory. A notebook skin is made from high-quality vinyl with an adhesive that leaves no residue on your notebook computer. The skin is pasted on the top outside of your laptop. Skins come in shapes and sizes to fit your laptop and in all types of colors and combinations. You can also have your own personal monogram on the skin. Custom-made skins are more expensive than readymade skins. Skins are backed with a special adhesive specifically formulated to allow easiest bubble free dry application. Skins do not fade, crack, or peel for many years. They also do not leave any residue behind on the laptop surface, in case you do not want a skin later, or want another new skin. Since the skin is made to stick on the top outside of the notebook, it only improves the aesthetics primarily with the secondary function being protection of the laptop from daily submission to dust, scratching, and sunlight. Skins are reusable and are available in a variety of finishes, including glossy, matte, fabric, etc. Many varieties of prints are also available, for example, animal prints (like tiger skin, leopard skin, crocodile skin, etc.), floral and flourishes, solids and shapes, you can also have your own design, or any photograph of your choice. Prices range from $10 to $30 depending on the style and make of the skin.

The pictures can be transmitted electronically over the Web and hence the name "web cam". Space is a premium with laptops and so smaller web cams are generally much more appreciated. Most laptop web cams are sleek and have folding, adjustable arms to grip the top of the monitor. The size is usually small and has a metal casing. The connection is via USB 2.0 port, and the setup is easy plug and play with a driver install needed. Free games and software comes with the driver CD. Resolution can be chosen as per individual needs, from 160 x 120 to 640 x 480. Most web cams provide custom software to control the varied environments of the mobile laptop user. Brightness, contrast, saturation, gamma and exposure (or white balance) can be controlled manually or set to preprogrammed preset modes. Preset modes cover everything from indoor to outdoor to fluorescent lighting. Setting the control to auto makes all the necessary adjustments automatically. The web cam has a focus ring by which good focal range for close up image capture can be taken. Zooming is also possible. Stills of 1.3 mega pixels can be effectively taken. Instant messaging is the main use of a web cam and most web cams work fine with MSN and Yahoo. The microphone is usually built-in to save space. Combined with good sound quality along with picture quality a web cam is a necessary notebook accessory for a web cam notebook. Depending on the brand and the features chosen, the price of web cams can range from $20 to $80. Latest notebooks have integrated web cams.
